The rosary as it is presented in this book consists of only five mysteries to ponder instead of fifteen. It focuses upon a particular part of Jesus’ life: the three years before his crucifixion. We see Jesus interacting with people — speaking with them, loving them, teaching them. They are ordinary people — the good, the bad, the sad, the hated the forgotten of the society; the street people, the misfits, the throwaways, the nobodies. The author, a recovering alcoholic, walks with these people in the New Testament. In fact, they had brought him to the awesome, powerful, loving presence of Jesus. This book was written with the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous as its foundation and the healing miracles of Jesus as its focus.
